Representatives
These are the 435 Voting members of the House. The house has a few differences from the senate in that areas that have no representation in the the Senate are represented (even if not proportionally) in the House. This means that the American Samoa, DC, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands all have representation here each getting 1 at large seat in the house. It is important to mention however that while these location do have a single representative and while that representative may be a member of special committees, they do not have voting privileges and as such are not listed here.
All members of the House are up for re-election every 2 years.

Districts
Congressional districts are allocated based on State Population as determined by the 10 year census. The more people claiming a state as their home of record the more Representatives that state gets with each representative being given a portion of the state s population to serve. If a state is deemed too small for multiple representatives as is the case with Alaska amongst others, then that state is given 1 "At-Large" representative to serve the entire state. The average district has about 700,000 residents.
Districts lines are allowed to be drawn by the states as long as each district is equal in size and do not result in discrimination against citizens based on race and language. States are free to redraw district lines whenever they want but most often do so after each 10 year census. This often opens up the questions of political abuse of this system by parties which is referred to as gerrymandering.
