PACTS Incorporated is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of the Black Community. The name as a word signifies our commitment to the community by constantly reminded us of the pact we made to build within the community. PACTS is also an acronym for what we believe is needed in the community in order to develop it into the vibrant community it can be.
Power
Power represents control. The ability to directly or indirectly create outcomes. This is normally done through acquiring, manipulating, or transforming resources. It is our belief that the Black Community should have the power to control its own growth and development, protect itself, and provide for itself.
Affinity
Affinity represents familiarity. The closeness or understanding that is gained from similarities. It is our belief that through the myriad of differences present in the Black Community, our basic historical and cultural foundations are the similar. Ultimately this means that the way the majority of us view the world and its treatment of us is similar as well. Most importantly though, this means that most of us believe that conditions for Black People need to be improved. This similarity creates a natural affinity present between members of the community and that affinity would create a level of unity if not for all the social, cultural, and educational blockades preventing us from seeing them. It is our goal to clear away those blockades and encourage that natural affinity not just for each other, but also for our history and culture.
Consciousness
Consciousness represents awareness. The ability to perceive the totality of a given situation. This is normally achieved through the development of critical thinking skills, the study of history, and the acquiring of knowledge and experiences that all come together to expand our ability to perceive current realities, process them, and make plans for the future. We believe consciousness is more than just knowing a little history, it is a large and ever growing acknowledgement of both what we know is going on around us and the things that we don't know that are going on around us. Basically being aware of what we know and what we don't know and being able to use that awareness to make decisions that can move the collective forward. We also believe consciousness entails action, its more than just the thought, its the doing as well. We believe the Black Community while emotionally or intuitively is aware of what is going on, often times lacks that historical aspect and thus the depth of what is going on. It is our goal to provide that depth and thus move us from the current state of paralysis into a state of action.
Truth
Truth doesn't need a definition. But we understand that it is often times based on the perspective of the speaker. Truth as an action or a result is fairly easy to determine. But truth as a motive or idea is a lot more tricky and often times causes the fragmentation we often see in the community. We do our best to operate from a standpoint of truth in action and result while staying best we can out of the realms of motives and thoughts which causes the various dogmas and doctrines that keep us from working together. As such while we can work with any group dedicated towards building and equality. While it is not our goal to spread the truth from our perspective as an absolute, it is our goal to teach critical thinking and information acquiring and analyzing. While we might all have different ideas as to why we need help and to change things, none of that changes the fact that we do need help and to change things.
Singularity
Singularity for us represents 2 things but the most important of those is the unification of minds and activities towards a singular goal. That goal is the growth and development of the Black Community to a point of self-sustainment and continual improvement. We believe that most Black People want to do better and want to help others do better. They simply need somewhere to direct their energies towards that endeavor. It is possible to make drastic changes in a very short amount of time by simply organizing the energy that is already available and pointing it in a productive direction.

We Are What We Have Been Waiting For
Pacts has a number of goals both short term and long term. We have plans to do everything from creating a nation wide after school/tutoring program to creating curricula for various activities and programs in cities all over the nation all with the goal of enhancing Black America’s future prospects. Here are a few:
- To Have our educational programs used in 50% of Black Institutions
- To Create a platform that channels 25% of Black Dollars into Black Businesses
- To stay true to our mission and vision statements and faithful to the Black Community
Among the many things that make PACTS Different we have outlined a few of the more important ones here:
- We are a Black Group not a Minority Group.
- Any funds offered must not have strings attached that will affect our ability to perform for Black America.
- We are trying to develop Black America NOT transform Black America into a pigmented version of White America.
- We are trying to work ourselves out of existence. We see a future were Black People will no longer need advocacy groups because the community and the culture itself will offer the protections and services needed.
- We are trying to create our own structures and institutions in addition to infusing Black Culture and Pride into existing ones.
- We are not begging White America to change.
- We are not stuck in the past, but we are aware of it and its importance.
- We are not trying to become another social club for elitist.
- We are really not interested in public displays of emotion with no strategic value and no real benefits.
- We don’t hate anyone, but we do love ourselves, our people, our culture, and our heritage and we want to see Black America do better.
- We view ourselves as a part of the community. All of our members are included when we say “We.”
PACTS is a Black Development Organization aimed at developing the Black Community to its maximum potential through a focus on education and economics with the traits of hard work, honesty, and integrity. We will educate, litigate, incorporate and, if necessary, resuscitate the community at large or in pieces whenever and wherever necessary.
The PACTS vision is simple: An independent, self-sustaining National Black Community with pride and positive self-imagery
Black people have a unique history and a unique set of challenges. It is difficult to fully address those challenges when operating under the label of a minority group that has it’s attentions spread out over multiple groups with multiple different issues and priorities. We do not hate any other groups and we will work with them on intersecting issues, however we feel that we must put us first in order to see the changes we truly wish to see. Just like women have their own groups, LGBTQ have their own groups, Native Americans have their own groups, Black Americans need our own groups, groups that cater to and advocate for Black Americans only with no other priorities to complicate things.
Your involvement is critical to the success of our mission. PACTS cannot exist without you. You are PACTS. We are what we have been waiting for.

The open hand represents the inviting culture necessary to make an organization truly become one of the people its working for. Traditionally the Black Power Fist is used and when engaged in a fight against the many structures and obstacles in front of the Black Community that is appropriate. However that Combative Strong Culture isn't necessarily what you want when working to build within a group. So instead of the fist we open our hand as a way of showing:
- An open invitation to work with us
- Our acceptance towards all members of the community as long as they are willing to build
- Our desire to make pacts and other agreements with the community.
- Our desire to be non-combative with members of the community.
